LAWTELL THE ART CAT - Surgeonfish painting

Dr. Lawtell here. I’m no surgeon but I am a smooth operator; my humans do what I want them to. On this page, I have for you a painting of Surgeonfish in the Caribbean. Actually, they were in a tank just above the sea at the Curaçao Seaquarium. This is another in the series I call “virtual aquariums” that my human artist painted there. In this painting, the shadowy trails behind the fish help to create the illusion that they're suspended in the water, gliding through the corals. And they're slightly aware that you're looking at them.

Surgeonfish get their name from the scalpel-like spines along the top and bottom of their bodies. So I guess they’re not very good to nibble on. Such a pity. What good is a fish if it's not edible? I suppose they can be fun to watch, (but still better to eat).

Wouldn’t this painting look great in a surgeon’s office? Don’t keep it to yourself. Tell your favorite surgeon (and everyone else you know)! But then of course wouldn’t it look great anywhere? Just write to me and ask about it.

My furry friend Sophie, in Virginia, loves the Strawberry Anemone painting in the last post Strawberry Anemone page so much that she convinced her humans to buy it. Thanks, Sophie, you pretty kitty, you! Sophie thinks her hat is more comfy as a seat cushion, as you can see in the photo below.

Sincerely meow,
