Greetings from a surreal sea! I love the term Suspension of Disbelief. You’re not being asked to believe, just to accept.
This painting looks to me a little like heaven, and I don’t even have to use one of my lives to go there. What’s that sound? A rumbling, a chanting, a swirl of magic under the sea? A Mardi Gras Indian displays his beaded suit and Tibetan monks gather to bless the waters while a Renaissance siren queen glides through coral gardens on her trusty iguana. A Picasso triggerfish flaunts his body art. An elaborate fantasy of delight! You must welcome me, Lawtell, as your guide to the show. Here you can see all different species, getting along together in harmony. If only the real world worked like this!
Just roll over the above image to see me in my feathers. They give me a mystical air, don’t you agree? Where’s that crystal ball? I’m dressed for Mardi Gras and fit right in with the colorful clownfish! Though I must say that fuzzy Canadian goosling in the corner looks quite edible… (Yes, I know it's called gosling, but I like goosling better, sounds more like food.)
Below, you can see an animation my human artist made of this painting. In it, you can hear the voices of both Tibetan monks and Mardi Gras Indians combined.
If you hang this spectacular painting, you can go on your own astral journey every day!
